Reflections on the Consumer Correction: A Gray May

Anyone who knows me well will tell you that one of the few things I enjoy discussing as much as *emotions* (a classic ENFJ…) is equities. Having started my career looking at public equity and credit markets on Morgan Stanley’s trading floor, I hold a deep seated appreciation and awe for what economic data and public markets can tell us about early stage opportunities.

Yet, as I reflected a few weeks back, there’s little aggregated data out there on consumer companies. Thus, in an effort to contextualize the ongoing correction and what it means for the future of consumer, I’m going to begin sharing monthly Charts to Chew On. It is my hope that these mark to market reflections are helpful as you chart your own path through the uncertainty ahead. If you’re interested in following along in the months to come, subscribe to my Medium or follow me on Twitter for more.

Note: Data reflective of May 31, 2022. This does not constitute investment advice.

As a big believer in kaizen, I’m always open to feedback. Whether it’s names to include or formats to explore, please help me help you! Find me on Twitter at @itsmeeraclark.
